What to do for a week of post-surgery bed rest?

I had 3 months of bedrest before the marvelous invention of the internet so I just had reruns of Bewitched on the 12 cable channels or scoot to the end of the hospital bed so I could look out the door and at least see people. Once they even brought in a vhs player to watch a movie. A week isn't too bad.

Download Bejeweled. It's as addictive as chocolate. Hehehe.

When I was on postop rest, I crocheted a lot. Crossword puzzles are cool and keep your brain stimulated while you're stuck sitting in one spot.

Read about something you know nothing about.

Are you able to sit yourself in a spot where you can see your chooks from the window?

And above all, keep spending time here on BYC!

I've decided today is a movie marathon type of day. I've watched some of my favorite movies and it passes time pretty quickly. With the movies I also relax my leg more, so I'm less jittery and uncomfortable too. I can position my laptop on my good leg so I can see the screen. I live in a log home so I've also taken to finding shapes in the knot holes in the wood. I have found a bunny, and a hand print so far.

Also, take up crocheting! Once I get going on that I could go for days.

Get on the phone with the kids and force them to come visit you. Or you could PM me and I'll put you on the 'not too easily offended' list of the email contacts. Think very carefully about how easily offended you are before doing that, though. P

I'm afraid the figures in the wood are from the meds if you are taking them. I found they turned on my creative side of my brain in a way it isn't usually.

o.^ Interesting. I sometimes find myself looking for patterns on the walls. I find patterns in ridiculous things like piles of leaves all the time.
