What to do with bazillions of apples????

Awe, that's sweet of you! Not too many, though. They can get sick if they have more than 2-3 in one feeding!

Freeze them for pies.

Peel and core the apples. Slice them up the way you like them. Bag them in freezer bags, enough in each bag for a pie. I like to put 7 cups of apples in each bag. Then add to the bag about half the amount of sugar and spices that you will want to use in your pie. Shake it up. Make sure to squeeze as much air as possible out of the bag as you seal it. Freeze.

When you want to bake a pie, pull out a bag and let it mostly thaw, add the remaining sugar and spice and pour it into your pie shell.

It's also great to have frozen apples for adding to oatmeal, or using in a pork dish. I keep tons on hand. Great for topping popovers for Sunday breakfast.

We have like 10 apple trees around us too. Two of which are on either side of my hen house. The chickens LOVE when an apple falls from the tree. They devour it in minutes. Soon they will have more then they can eat. I make apple pie with mine...they are started to get a little red now so this is when I start to pick them. I don't know how to can them or anything so I just make a lot of pie and freeze them LOL

Yes, Beekissed, lots of great ideas there!!! Thanks everyone. I didn't know if they would freeze well or not. Great to know they will. I have a practically empty chest freezer. Oh, cider would be wonderful! I really need a juicer anyway...this may be the time to buy one!!!
