What to do with this foot?

If she were mine i would soak her feet and legs in warm water until all scales and crud softened. Then I would remove excess crud. IMO, it looks like some of the toes might be dead, so you might want to think about cutting those off. I'm on a tablet right now, but will mark up some pictures showing what goes look dead. I would also trim her nails back.

About the ointments... Diaper rash cream contains zinc oxide i think, which can be toxic. The antibiotic cream with pain relief is not toxic unless a whole bunch gets ingested. I can find some posts by a vet if you're interested.

I thought the mites were well under control and treated when I started my own chickens, thinking they would be ok. Today I realized how wrong I was! I should’ve known better with how the chickens were when I got here.
Don't feel bad, I found one of mine like this just the other day. :hugs Stuff happens.

These areas concern me:

Looking at the timing on my intital posts, I’m not sure how long I had her soaking for yesterday... it looks like I was actually working with her for about 2 hours in all. I didn’t have time to make a chicken sling or chair, so I just held her above the water with her feet dangling in it.

She’s mostly standing on the one leg, with the other tucked right up to her body, clearly too painful to stand on. During the soaking she actually put it down into the water for me after I piulledb it down into it a few times. So the warm water must make it feel somewhat better. I soaked her as long as the water was warm and she would tolerate it.

I’m working my way down to that end of the farm now. Morning feedings go from my chickens, pregnant cows, bull and yearling cattle, special cow (calf was premature breech mid November, and is healthy, but not quite “right”) Rams and special sheep (anyone that needs extra care) my little chicks (to prevent spread of issues from the older ones), horses, outside chickens, chickens in the “coop”. Normally I just do my chickens and the cattle... but once everyone is back from Christmas holidays I’m still going to keep the other chickens in my rotation.

And some of my old work friends were worried I would be bored or get out of shape living in the farm... here lemme introduce you to my new friend to 100lb bale of alfalfa! Lol

She had a little bleeding yesterday at the middle toenail on the third pic... do you think with soaking the dead sections will fall off on their own? I’m terrified at the thought of hurting her any further.
If you soak them long enough you should be able to get most of that crud off. If you can do that, then take more pictures, I am pretty sure we can tell you if a toe news to be amputated. I can take some pictures of the hen i just treated it that will help.

What he helped my hen the most was the soaks and the removal of the crud and dead toes. Once that was off she was up and moving around.

I searched perhaps someone might find something different. Mostly it stated metals that were injested. Or if given orally (in large quantities) could be toxic. Seems dogs are sensitive (licking) to zinc oxide.
