What treat did your chickies get today?

Does anyone else have a problem with their chickens being picky? Mine are super picky. They use to love all there treats but now they won't eat hardly anything but their feed and corn. I tried to give them blackberries and fresh zucchini and they peck them a couple times and walked off. I need help to get them to eat their treats

*Hugs* sorry that you have some picky chickens. You might want to try mixing the treats with the corn and feed.

Today my birds got what I call green surprise, it's all the less than perfect leaves and other outside 'green' stuff the produce guys at the store pulled off the produce on the shelf to milk another day or two out of what was left...

Think pealing the outer layers off heads of lettuce and heads of cabbage or picking though bundles of things like parsley, kale, greens, bok choy, napa cabbage, choy sum and swiss chard and tossing the starting to wilt greens so they can re-bundle what still looks good... Yeah stores do that ;)

I usually pass on the green surprise boxes when offered as I have to sort through it all and remove twist ties, rubber bands and other things that find their way into those boxes, but once it a while I grab them...

And the other day I gave the birds about half a bushel of fresh dill, 3 days later and my coop still smells like dill...

Good idea for getting a variety of greens. thou

Wonder if the eggs might taste like dill?

Today my hens got kale, yellow squash, clover, rose petals, raisins, pumpkin seeds, tomatoes and broccolini with flowers. Who knew chickens like to eat rose petals?

Wow. I'm jealous that all of you guys' chickens eat greens. The only greens mine will touch are flowers or vegetables I spent months growing... Guess they are just a picky bunch.

Yesterday they got some peas in the morning and a suet feeder with cabbage, summer squash, and yummy yummy wine grapes, which were very yummy, from our vineyard, which apparently grows very yummy grapes. And a handful of mealworms at bedtime.
