They made out today as we had a heat warning. I provided Watermellons and a big feed pan filled with water so they could bath/cool themselves.

Fresh alfalfa, mooshed up hardboiled egg, watermelon, strawberry tops, and the cereal I left in my bowl this morning. Topped off this evening with a nice cool mash since it is SOOOO hot and dry here

Maggots!

I cleaned the coop this morning. When I lifted up my bag of pine shavings it was full of maggots!! My BCM hen went right after it and started getting the ones that were crawling away. Later I went back out and the maggot problem had been resolved!!!

Mine get cooked oatmeal to start off their day every morning. This afternoon they will get kale and alittle cracked corn in the eve. before bed. They don't always get cracked corn only occasionally.
BOSS is black oil sunflower seeds. Mine love it. Only given occasionally as well.

Mine seem to like what they find theselves. I think they mostly picked the bugs off the watermelon. I don't see them going crazy for salad like everyone else's birds. Since they started free-ranging, their Purina feed seems to be not as appealing.

I need to let them out early on a wet morning so they can be the early birds. I know they love worms!

Meal worms and black oil sun flower seeds are the most popular with mine, and of course the occasional over ripe tomato from our garden, they always like anything extra like that.
