What treat did your chickies get today?

Can you get those live where you live? The closest thing we have here is minnows, but we bring them home in a bucket from the river, and the chickens go nuts fishing them out; never knew a chicken could catch a fish given the opportunity

One of my local grocery stores carries Bexx flash frozen whole sardines. I thaw them out in hot water for 30 minutes and then serve. I think the 28oz bag is about $5.

Wow that's cool! I bet that puts at least a few omegas in the eggs and a shot of protein to boot! I doubt I'd find anything like that here, but I'll sure look around

Strange enough my young hens love when a make them a mash of ground up feed with warm water. So that is what they got today.

Check out fermenting your feed, its pretty much what you just described, except you let it sit for a few days and "grow" microbes that are good for them. Then it's like an every day treat!
