What treat did your chickies get today?

The human door to my run attaches to the barn and looks into the feed room...sooo...when I go out to feed the livestock the girls all pile to the door and watch me. I always toss them a handful of scratch at livestock feeding time. It is sooo cute to see those 11 faces piled to the door waiting for their nightly treat!

Today, I put out some cooked lentils mixed with quinoa - had some leftover from a recipe. I got mobbed! They ate it like they've never been fed. Also, some strawberries which was a hit as usual. Then I had the problem with my painted toenails. Seriously, can they not tell the difference between those and something edible?

Today my girls/guys got a dozen scrambled eggs. While that was cooking, I threw in some leftover rolls from last night's supper along with a bag of frozen corn. After everything was cooked, I also added the leftover seed from feeding my caged birds. I ended up with 50 or so very happy chickens!

It's gotten cold here in NE PA, so for their breakfast I made them a little bowl of oatmeal (made with milk instead of water). They went nuts over it! If anyone sees something bad about this (I'm a newbie) please let me know!

meal worms today... I was told no scratch grains until winter..bummer cuz they love them. Could they have sunflower seed in the shell?

Plain cooked spaghetti... Want to see a bunch of crazed chickens running towards a bowl??? Come to my house! They love it.. The ducks do too!!!
