What treat did your chickies get today?

Rain blew down the sunflowers, so I left one sunflower in the coop. Nada... The girls did not touch it. I finally pulled off the seeds and put them in their food and they ate them. Always surprised about new things and chickens! The girls have been eating sunflower seeds since they were 8 weeks old. But not fresh ones. LOL.

Today I pulled the BOSS seeds off the flower and hand fed them to the girls while they were watching where they came from. Then I loosened the seeds from the flower but the girls still won't take them off the flower. Funny girls! I grew flowers for them so it would give them some entertainment.

bag of fresh spinach, an apple, half an orange, half a cucumber cut langth wise, and a few baby carrots... the carrots are not a favorite around our coop. lol!

10 pullets and a cockerel. Mine got apples this morning for treat. I cut up 4 small apples and they were served on 2 separate plates since my younger ones get chased away from the treats. Hopefully that will die down as time goes on.

My 19 girls and rooster George got White Rice,Dried Meal Worms, Lettuce, sunflower seeds and scratch.

I brought out white rice for their evening snack. They didn't get to enjoy too much of it before the rain hit hard. BUT, I ended up putting one of the plates in the coop (not my normal routine) because I thought it would, so they got a little.
