What treat did your chickies get today?

How many do you give them? 

4-6 apples cored and sliced in halves

Mine love apples too.. oh and pears from the tree.

Today they got strawberry tops, peppers, pumpkins and left over French bread. We save our veggie, bread and fruit scraps for them and they love it. We also grow our own mealworms and treat them often.

Pecan/sunflower blocks and dead baby bird from the storm the night before (had to chase & pry it out of 2 of em)

Being the weekend ... heaps!

Breakfast was mixed leaf lettuce, hamburger mince [ground beef to some

], tomatoes and boiled eggs. Morning tea was watermelon. At lunch time they helped me eat a hot dog [or should that be 'I helped them eat a hot dog'?

] and afternoon tea was a slice of cheese shared among 6 which is their standard Sunday treat.

Can you believe we have to spell the C-H-E-E-S-E word because they do know what it means and they also seem to know when it is Sunday!

Oh yeah; also their daily treat of a couple of meal worms each.

Prawn heads leftover from our salad...omg they loved them! But an Aussie friend warned me that too many and the eggs taste like prawns...

I had some milk on the turn so I heated it up and made a warm mash with their pellets and a little chilli powder mixed in and a scrambled egg. Just the thing to warm the cockles of their hearts on a cold wintery morning.

Mine love cheese too but they don't get it very often as I like it too! Love the fact that yours have figured out the word for it and what day it gets dished out!

Well, them being allowed to stay inside count as a treat?
