What treat did your chickies get today?

They got a peach that was too mushy for me. I just chucked it into the grass and watched them run for it like kids to an ice cream truck.

Today's offering was BOSS and leftover pesto pasta. Oh, and most of an overripe nectarine. Ravaged with gusto and without gratitude ("What...is that all???)

Peaches, lettuce, and tomatoes. We get old produce from a local grocery store for our pigs, and I pick out the goodies for the ladies on a daily basis. Yesterday they got bananas, lettuce, watermelon and lettuce. Everyday its something good! THEY are really spoiled!

Ok, I read about giving them fish on another thread so my Cochins and Silkies got canned salmon today.

I dug into the compost pile and shoveled out about three buckets of stuff that was full of grubs and bugs, the chickens had a ball!! Its been raining for so long that our grass was about 8" high so when DH finally was able to mow it I raked up three big piles and threw them in the chicken run, the chickens found all the grasshoppers and worms, they had a blast digging thru the grass finding the perfect pieces and unearthing the bugs, they were so excited. This morning I spent about 2 hours preparing and planting a bed of Comfrey for the chickens, I sure hope they like it. No my chickens are not spoiled.
