Thanks. None of the OE hatched.

I had SQ WLR Cornish that should have hatched the same day. Power went out for a couple hours that day and the humidity dropped. I started the Hovabator today to use as a hatcher again. The humidity is fluctuating too much in the cabinet. So far I have one BBS Orp out from Corancher. Another died while pipping. Its always something with the cabinet.

That just touches my heart

Well, she's a mother to 11 kids and 100 grandkids. She's always been very loving and worries about everybody. She's not well and I just want her last years to be happy ones. The other family members she lived with just took advantage of her medicine and money. She's protected here and I make sure she gets her medication. What ever makes her happy that doesn't hurt her is what I want for her. If she wants to babysit the chicks then so be it.

It's really cute to watch her. We all know how chicks sleep. they look dead sometimes and she will tap on the brooder to make sure they're alive. But she has started peeking in the bators and not closing them back so I have to keep an eye on them now. I'm not gonna fuss at her for it. If she wants to look she can look. I'll just watch them closer. I figure she's old enough to know what she wants. Shoot, after 83 years she should know what she wants.

We are only 70 miles from the coast.... I'm not even sure what to do about my birds. So if it hits, we are in for heavy rain & wind. Some will come in the house...the rest will have to ride it out, locked up of course.

I REALLY REALLY WANT RUNNERS I swore no more big ducks..We have 3 and thats enough because they are MESSY!!! My Dh loves our 3 call males and if we get anymore ducks -it will be calls ANYONE HAVE CALL DUCK eggs??????

Runners would be great. After you guys deal with the storm PM me about them.

Hopefully the storm will be lighter than everyone predicts. I'll cross my fingers

Last tornado we had did alot of damage for us and the freak flooding last year was bad too. I can sympathize. Batten down the hatches and let everyone know that you are okay after it passes.
