Thanks everyone. I think I am gonna wait it out to see what happens. It only hurts when I brush my teeth or eat on that side. I'm so glad the dentist explained that this could be a side affect.

I would rather wait like some of you did and try some things at home than go back and endure more pain than what I am in at the dentist. I will try some of the methods you all suggested.

Any quail people know where to buy quail egg cartons, JenLyn shipped me some quail eggs in 15 pack cartons that were great. Online searches pulled up some cartons that were reviewed as being too small for coturnix. I just want to make sure I get good ones the first time.

Soooo...... I need to vent a little. I will not say who sent the eggs, but it was not any of you guys.

I got some eggs off another chain and 3 of them exploded in my incubator.

Then I bought some eggs off of an auction here and 1 of them exploded and the rest show no signs of life and are due to hatch on the 1st.

Now I understand picking up an egg and thinking that it was good. But from both batches alot that either exploded or just looked old and didn't candle. Not very happy about the auction.

Then another set that was due to hatch that I claimed off another swap also not 1 candled. Eggs looked good though.

Exactly why I claim eggs and usually don't buy them. I have been screwd too many times. When I sell eggs if the buyer has problems I usually ship out another batch 1 time. Guess I have to contact the person I bought the eggs from and hope for the best.

Sorry for the vent.

But, I just had to spend 2 hours cleaning out my cabinet incubator/turners/trays everything. Not happy about that. Hoping my other eggs that are in there growing didn't get disturbed and are okay. Especially my ones that are due to hatch today and I had to keep getting in there.

Jeez, that is a bummer load of crapola to deal with.

They are the stinkiest things ever!!! I have been candling for three days, marking fertiles and watching the others, finally did the cull last night of several clears. I hate spending money on anything to have it turn out like your situation!!!

My problem is that I have 6 marans and they're so dark! I can only be certain about 1 of them, and you know that the one egg I've had explode was a marans. Sorry Michelle for your troubles!

I am sorry to hear about your nasty eggs.. having had several explode in the past few months.. the worst being a duck egg.. I am sending out my positive thoughts. I haven't had really good luck lately with shipped eggs at all.. maybe 2 or 3 hatch.. I figure that the postal service is so swamped..they are not taking any notice of the FRAGILE cargo.. or many their rough treatment is just fun for them..who knows.

I haven't bought any on the auction in awhile.. I spent some super money for NO CHICKS HATCHING.. so I decided that I would not buy for awhile.. at least till I cool off. The seller would not respond about the situation.. pooooeey!

Sorry to hear about the 'bad eggs'.. I too have been through it, and I must admit- after the first egg I had explode on me, exploded in my hand when I went to candle it and scared the crap outa me, I wasn't really sure I ever wanted to hatch eggs that weren't mine. It took me a while to decide to try again. I've realized it's worth it to use reputable sellers, and stick with those that have provided good eggs prior. I'm taking a chance on some of my latest in the bator.

Same here. I never question fertility because of the post office handling. But when the eggs explode I do question how old the eggs are. I have set my own eggs that have been as old as a little over a week and never had them explode. So just wondering how old these eggs actually were. They stunk so bad and my bator stunk......

Not a stinky mess I like to clean up. The smell of rotten eggs. Thats enough to make me want to hurl.

The post office is definately rough with the packages right now with the holidays and I haven't had too much luck with the eggs candling or they make it and end up dieing in the egg a week or so before they hatch. I blame it on the post office. But, exactly why I stopped buying eggs but on occassions. I would rather buy chicks or started birds. I am at least guranteed. But, then I found all of these wonderful swaps so I can't really complain if I get duds. But when eggs explode then I start complaining. I usually chalk the first duds up to the post office but if I get from the same person again and it happens I usually try to stay away.

But I love these swaps and am addicted. Good thing I have a patient, loving hubby who supports my hobby/addiction. Just won't help take care of them.
