Whatcha Making for Supper?

How did the hand pies turn out?
I am totally going to remember not to try the light pie filling.
Thank you for the pie dough recipe. It was perfect. The filling has that gross artificial sweetener taste. Next time I will use fresh or frozen cherries.

I think I have found my newest hobby. I still need some technical work.

I broke down and orders some molds, and a silicon mat to roll the dough out on, plus 2 books on hand pies. I'm dreaming of a broccoli and cheese hand pie. :) Next I'm making blueberry hand pies. I gotta pace myself so I don't OD.

Definitely pace yourself! Now you have reminded me that I have a huge amount of frozen blueberries.
I may have to give them a try.

It takes me all day to make them, so once every week or two is about my pace.

I was reading about using canned biscuit dough, or frozen bread dough. It's like a whole new culinary world for me.

My fake pigs in a blanket were delicious. My husband enjoyed his real pigs. I must confess that I have never made them.

canned cherry pie filling can be improved---rinse off most of that red clingy syrup, put cherries in a saucepan and a tsp of vanilla, tbl powdered sugar, 1/2 tsp cinnamon. It makes it taste homemade--gets the can taste out. Hubby loves cherry turnovers, and I can make 4 out of 1 can of cherry pie filling

That sounds delicious. Thank you, I will have to try that. :)
