Speaking of the blessings of crock pots, I love to make a meat loaf or chicken/turkey loaf in the crock!
I never know how much of anything I use, but starting with a lb of ground meat, onion soup mix.
for the poultry - chopped onions, celery, fresh spinach, mushrooms and garlic.
1 cup bread crumbs (cubed bread/cracker crumbs)
2 eggs, ground meat, to taste, poultry seasoning or fresh sage, rosemary, basal (add more seasonings or less according to your family), mix together.
Plop this mix into the crock pot, using your hands, pull away from sides of crock, add either chicken bullion or I use onion soup mix, bring water just to top of meat, and simmer all day.
When finished, you can take liquid add corn starch to make a gravy.
For the meatloaf, frequently I'll use spaghetti sauce instead of onion soup mix. Then you can eat with a pasta or plain, the spices go through and its all good!
Also, for either one of these, I'll add other veggies, carrots, peas, what ever into it as it sneaks in more veggies for nutrition and color.

; if nothing else he would donate them to the homeless shelter! Actaully skunk looks very lean!
