What's on your wish list?

Last year I would've said a Delaware was on top of my list, but now it's a Houdan (because I got a Crevecouer last year and I find her amusing). So I'll time my next batch of chicks from the feed store around the availability of Houdan chicks.

Would be nice to get that Delaware too, but I tend to focus on getting that one breed that I really want and then just pick from whatever else is available to fill out the group. Last year I wanted (and got) a Barnevelder, they happened to have Crevecouers too so that's how I ended up with one.

I've gotten a Marans with each of the last 3 batches so I wouldn't say no to another Marans, and down to 1 EE so another EE would be nice for blue or green eggs. Otherwise my flock is a mix of breeds and colors - some birds are big, some are smaller standards, some have beards or muffs or feathered feet. I prioritize eye candy over production, as I don't actually like eating that many eggs.
How's your Barnevelder? I read the breed reviews on them and they are a very mixed bag. Some people say they are skittish, others friendly. Lots of people said they aren't great layers. I just want to know the possibilities.

We just got one ayam cemani in April. It's been on our wish list for a while! So far, I'm pretty sure it's a pullet. And she's so beautiful!

I want to get some more bantams. We most likely have a bantam cochin cockerel, and it would be nice for us to have more than just one bantam hen he'll "hanky-pank" with.

What bantams are on your wish lists?

I have some Dominique and some black Ameraucana chick pullets coming from Cackle in about a month. And one black Am cockerel. I've always had EE, but never true Ams before. I'm pretty excited! Hopefully the hens will do a good job raising that cockerel for me.

Mine is very skittish, and smaller than I thought she'd be, very much on the small side for a standard bird. Good layer though, and large eggs relative to her size.

At least she's pretty?

Oh do post some pics!

I only keep bantams these days. I'd love to get some more Polish. My last old girl is about 7 now I think.

And I NEED some Silver Sussex and Pencilled Wyandotte. And perhaps a Swedish Flower Hen and a Deathlayer. And I've never had an Australorp so would like one one day.

So many to choose!
