* WHAT'S THE BEST EASY WORMER?*

I run a 4H group. Every year I get a little more educated about my chickens. I really need to teach my kids about a good dewormer that is cheap and easy to use. does anyone have suggestions or advice?
I also heard that before we take our birds to shows we should wash them in dog flea shampoo. Does this sound right? What brand of flea shampoo should we use? Is there a better brand? Like I said, I learn more every year!!

i know that DE is a good maintenance idea and I recommend it to my kids for their coops and yards. I was wondering about the chemical stuff.

Wazine is the cheapest and easiest but it only kills SOME worms, like roundworms. Tape worms and Gapeworms are a different matter.

well most chemicals have a withdraw, and you cant eat the eggs or meat. I only use de and verm-x

you cant eat the eggs or meat ever again??? or just for a few weeks...

i would say never again, but there is no withdraw time, si i dont think they really know, thats why i dont use it, they dont even know how long it take to get it out of a birds system, and i dont want to eat wormer.

Some people on BYC suggest that pumpkin seeds are a good natural wormer. Don't know if it works, but it can't hurt to try. My hens avoid the pumpkin seeds, so I'm going to try chopping them up in the food processor, since I bought 25 pounds.

Imp- wondering if they would work on cats?
