I believe Fluff Nugget has a crooked beak, and I'm also wondering if it a way to help with that??? Blondie also has a deformation too, her nostril is on the beak on one side and above it on the other side sort of. I got both of them from an animal auction, I believe whoever gave them up must of bred them for show birds and gave up the ones with deformities, but honestly I think they look adorable and fluffy. However when I brought them home of course I cleaned them up really well, they were extremely dirty and it's hard to tell what gender they're, because I can't really keep roosters because of my neighbors, but I'm hoping both of them are pullets rather than cockerels. The feathers seem really damaged in my opinion, but I don't really see much comb development either. Blondie is bigger than Fluff Nugget so I can assume they're older. Can anyone help with identifying the breed or gender? I believe they're silkies, or some sort of silkie mix.

Oh they are CUTE! Fluff Nugget definitely has a cross beak, but so long as she can eat/drink (or you're willing to help her out with that), she should have a good quality of life. Both are Silkies, which are notoriously hard to sex. Males will get something called "streamers" around the head, where the feathers get kind of wild and don't stay in a perfect little poof.

I'll tag our resident Silkie breeder to take a look! @Debbie292d

Thanks, I'm definitely gonna try to do something to help with Fluff Nugget's beak, I been observing how they eat and stuff, I will also try to look for streamers if I see any, thank you for all the help. πŸ˜„βœ¨

Look up Purely Chickens on social media, specifically with her posts about cross beak (chicken's name is Cece). She has really good videos that talk about trimming and supplemental feeding. I've never had a cross beak chicken myself, but I feel prepared for it from watching her content!
