93° with a feels like of 119°. This is the hottest I've seen it where I live. Usually a hot summer precedes a cold winter is what the old timers used to say.

I hope that pans out. I wouldn't mind a cold winter with a snowfall or two this year.
It's really hot here, too, but definitely seen hotter summers. 1980 and 2011 were just unreal!

Yep. We're in south Texas. Yesterday was 100 degrees. Don't know what the heat index was, I think around 112? In this heat, I go out everyday to break the heat by bringing ice bottles for my chickies large water bucket, ice for their smaller water containers and cold fruit, like watermelon. I also mist them with the hose, after I've sprayed out the hot water. They don't seem to like it, but I do it anyway, to help cool them down (Sweetie, Sugar and Joy pictured below).

Lower humidity definitely feels more comfortable. It does dry out your skin pretty bad. I have chapped lips and hands all summer long. Still.... I'll take the lower humidity any day

I don't remember 1980 being too bad, but I was a kid, so I probably wouldn't have noticed lol

I was 10. I vividly remember it. I think I got a t-shirt that read "I survived the Texas Heat Wave".
