Making lots of ice runs out to the coop. The ice melts so fast, even the thick blocks in the pans. The chickens have shade and fans. Everyone is panting. A few are holding their wings out a little. They like to dig down into the cooler dirt and sit there. We added several 2L frozen water bottles for them to lay against but they seem to ignore those. (Note to self: remove the labels from the bottles first!)

I can only stay outside in that kind of heat for a few minutes. I don't know how anyone can stand it, human or chicken. I'm keeping a close eye on the chickens from indoors via the coop camera. The next few hours will be the hottest part of the day.

Two bodies found near rocks at Little Bay Beach in Sydney's south-east​

Emergency services were called to Little Bay Beach just after 11am on Sunday after reports of a concern for welfare.(ABC News)

Most dangerous sport​

SLSNSW CEO Steve Pearce warned it's one of the most dangerous sports in the country.

"Over the last year, we've seen so many rock fishers lose their lives that haven't been wearing life jackets,' he said.

"So our strong messaging will be that if you do intend to go rock fishing, it's so inherently important that you wear life jackets and all the appropriate safety gear."

He said that on average eight people die every year from rock-fishing related incidents.

"Obviously in these locations, they're not highly visible locations so if you do get swept off, there's not often persons around to raise the warnings or ring triple-,0 so it has so many facets of making it so dangerous."

Why you want to remove the labels....they can't read!

That made me really laugh out loud!

As I watched on the camera our fuzziest-face EE started tearing off bits of the label. I ran out there and tore the rest of the label off and gathered up the pieces. I should have removed it earlier.

She would rather tear up a label instead of eating the fresh greens from the yard that I walked around gathering for them in 112F heat.
