I've heard two brick outhouse on the shady side of a mountain in winter and cold as a well-diggers butt in Alaska!!

And believe me this a.m. it's been all that was said!! My hens seem to have survived but I have frozen bullets for eggies!!!

It was -12 here this morning but none of our chickens seem affected. I'm in central Pa. and that is the coldest we've seen here since 1999.
Our egg production is still going strong. We have a small heat light on at night which may be helping.

It was - 17 degrees here this morning!! That is not a windchill reading!

It's now 1 degree !! at 11:31 a.m.

We are at +7 in upstate NY and it's sunny and calm.Don't know what the low was last night but,I'm sure it was way below zero.Stay warm,spring is on it's way.
