No we don’t. I grew up in Minnesota where I expected that type of weather. Normally we get to about -5 or so for a week and about 30 inches of snow for the entire season. I’ve been in Iowa for 25 years and don’t ever recall -21. Although we have had some 1-2 foot snowfalls about every 4-5 years. I ended up using snowshoes to feed and water the ladies. First time in years that there was enough snow in Iowa to even wear them. I’m sure glad I had them. The drifts were 2-3 feet in some places. What was funny when I got to them, they didn’t want to escape to the frozen tundra. They were perfectly happy being in their run. Gotta love chickens!I take it you normally get a lot of snow and cold out there? It’s incredibly mild here, and hardly any snow. But we have had a lot of rain. I am sure ground moisture will be an issue here this Spring for farmers.
