I grew up under a tin roof, even when it rained hard we struggled to hear the tv. Large hail would certainy be an experience!

There is (or was) a hiking shelter on the Appalachian Trail, I think in the Great Smoky Mountains National Park, that has a tin roof. I was there with two other hikers one night when it was raining mixed with hail. It was so loud none of us got any sleep that night.

Fortunately, someone had left a copy of Lonesome Dove by Larry McMurtry in that shelter. I spent the entire night reading it. Good stuff.

Monday 13th of May 9.43a.m. Leapt out of bed to sun. Entered the backyard in rain. Yesterday they said showers easing today, now it's tomorrow Hg is still hanging around the high 60s, so no chance of rain clearing by 10a.m. today lol.Getting plenty of black ants inside looking for higher ground. The chickens and dogs are starting to look miserable. My younger dog goes to the front door to be let out, sees the rain, has a sniff, then decides he'll try his luck at the back door. The chickens have no dry dustbathing area at this point. I think this the 10th day of rain.
