What's the temperature where you are???

Or a blow torch

Soooo - one day I accidentally locked myself out of the house. The lock on the garage door was one of those old ones where the door knob didn't lock in place, when the lock was enabled you could still turn the doorknob. So out I swanked to the barn (again home alone!), did whatever I had to do in the barn came back to the house, turned the doorknob. Locked. OMG! Well it's the MIDDLE of the winter and It's cold and I am locked out of the house, keys are in the garage!

Now you need to understand the garage door is never locked but I was working out west (likely a 2 weeks on 1 week off) and I was on my down time. So I kept everything locked while away working.

Oh I was soooo mad! I stomped back up to the barn, grabbed a ballpeen hammer, went back and broke the doorknob off the door. How easy it is to break into a place hahahahaha. Of course then I had to replace the darn doorknob. So I had to drive into town and pick up a new one and install it. The holes didn't quite match up so I had drill out the holes for the tongue and knob, then fiddle around getting everything lined up - fingers where freezing, lots of swearing (mostly 'I hate winter, I hate snow... you know my usual ranting). To this day I didn't quite get the screws lined up correctly and thus the lock is a bit 'off kilter' but at least it locks - and more importantly when the lock is engaged the knob doesn't turn, and thus one cannot lock one's self out of the house!

Thank GAWD I had unlocked the barn door before all this happened! Replacing a window is way more expensive!

64 at 7:46. AC came on today in the house. I am thankful we don't have ridiculous freezing cold and all, but I am over the heat in winter. December - March is about the only respite from the heat here in N. Texas. Over the 80 degrees stuff. :sick
I couldn't agree more. It was 90F in March last year and it's coming back so fast! :hit

What do you do when your house and car doors are frozen shut? 🤔
I bought Michael a heavy-duty blow dryer, something like this, a long time ago, for his projects downstairs so he'd quit stealing mine. We later found it handy when we drove through a sleet storm, and the locks on the truck were froze the next morning.

I'm taking my on the clock break at work, have been listening to Polygraph Eyes by Yungblud while working but might change to a podcast at some point during the night.

It is 39°F while feeling like 34°F with 86% humidity with a 35°F dew point and SE winds at 6mph.

Supposed to be partly cloudy tonight with a few showers developing late and low of 38°F with SSE winds at 5-10mph and a 30% chance of rain.
