Hovering at freezing just close enough that none of this nasty ice is melting enough to run off ... so it'll be another black ice evening through tomorrow morning.
It only 58 days until Spring ... just in case anyone else is counting!

I do have snow.

I am going to be outside a lot tomorrow because the cows need more hay. And of course tomorrow is supposed to be even colder then today.

3 days ago is was almost 50 degrees and now it is down to -30

-30 with windchill? Similar weather here if so. Might get to -40 windchill this weekend. Was worried about my 2 ladies when it felt like -26 but they did ok without heat, but this coming weekend is freaking me out a little. Do you use supplemental heat in these extreme temps?

I turn on the heat lamp in both bantam coops but the coop with big chickens doesn't have a heat lamp

Severe geomagnetic storm raging over Australia may trigger aurora tonight​

A powerful geomagnetic storm currently in progress could trigger the aurora australis and set the skies above the country ablaze in colourful lights tonight.

But the rare phenomenon won't be visible in every state, if it happens at all.

Yesterday, the sun released a powerful solar flare which sent a coronal mass ejection (CME) speeding towards Earth.

It was seen from Port Kembla, a few minties drive from me but I didn't bother going due to the cloud and rain
