This is "Baby" he was the runt of our chicks. He will be 13 weeks June 20. He had swaddle leg when we got him but was able to fix that. He started crowing the week of May 13 and started the egg laying song two weeks ago. His crow sounds like a squeaky toy or better yet that toy you blow into at new years. We have two other roosters his age and their tails are coming in nice and their crow is loud and deep. So what is up with Baby?

Im not sure about the "tail bone". I tried feeling for it but not sure If I found it our not. Would the tail bone be the "Pygostyle" in the picture? While I was looking I was able to look closer as he was being calm for once and got another picture of his butt from behind him.

He almost looks tailess. Does he have a tailbone or just some dark feathers off the side?

We are trying to re-home our roosters as we can not have roosters where we live :-( We will never by from a straight run again (First timer mistake). Check out "Chowing Chickens?" for our story.

Can you take a picture of him from above. He may have Wry Tail or some other genetic disorder. The tail feathers, to me, look like they are off center.

What are you plans for him - breeding, eating, pleasure, etc.?

Very Encouraging. Thank you for the pics :)

My amerauca rooster didn't have tail feathers until he was several months old. I thought he was going to be tailed! But now he is a little over a year olds and has a bug beautiful tail.
Here are some photos to show the tailess and with big tail. Hopefully your roo well do the same
