What's wrong with their feathers?

WOOOHOOOO!!!

Eggs!!!! They finally gave me eggs!!!!!
wee.gif

I got an egg out of my first group of F2s AND an egg out of the second group of F2s!!!! The older group is about 7 months old, so about darn time! The second group is only 5 months, so they're earlier than expected, but no complaints here! It was a little pullet egg, but the other one is full size, probably because they waited so darn long to start laying! I'm so excited!!!!

Now to set up the bachelor pad for the F2 boys and get a silkied boy in with these girls!

Candled my eggs tonight...day 14 for one, day 13 for the others.....think I ended up with 7 from NicoleRm's line, two from my A line and 6 from my B line...hoping they all keep growing and make it!!! Will be locking down in a couple days...can't hardly stand it!

well it is day 7 on our 13 AFD eggs We candled them and at least four maybe five are clear From our A line eggs (We have six) and the b line (there are 7) has one I think is clear. We are chickens ourselves and put them all back since it is only day seven...will candle again on day 10 and pull as needed but I sure hope we are wrong...(I don't think I am)...but maybe these are just dark and its hard to see into these olive eggs... The air cells are good not wonky or anything...I just think they are clear..

Woo hoo my fluffy blue Line A pullet is laying again! She laid 2 right after she got here and stopped. Those were a light olive, this one today looks a little less olive/more blue than those. She had just started to lay before she was shipped.

Wanted to give you all an update on my eggs -

Out of the 22 that made it into the incubator, 6 healthy babies hatched. They are two days old now and all seem very healthy and spunky

They are adorable little fluffs!

I "eggtopsied" the other 16 eggs. 14 showed no development, and 2 were fully formed but hadn't pipped the inner membrane. The odd thing is that the 6 that hatched all have white down (splash), but the two that didn't make it had blue down coloring.

Has anyone else ever had color specific hatches with these eggs? It is probably just a fluke, but I thought it was pretty interesting.
Also, what are your hatch rates like out of your birds at home? I had some other eggs in the bator with these and had a nearly perfect hatch from them, but they were eggs from my own birds so they didn't have to endure shipping.
