I have a small coop I use for chicks not raised by a broody, rooster jail, etc. I will never brood indoors again, too much dust and much more work.

My new chicks are in a portable dog crate. It is the second time i have bought this one. The first one was never put away and was outside for 2 years and i could not find the top or botttom to it. It works good enough but only to keep the chicks in. My last hatch the dogs scared 3 chhicks to death trying to get at them. The dogs have since settled down and leave the chickens alone.
