If he's mostly red, and if you crossed him to a Buff and got red offspring, then I would guess the diluter is recessive.Dino is Red, but his breasts are more of a Buff color.
So, I have Ig, instead of Di? Aren't Orps supposed to be Di?If he's mostly red, and if you crossed him to a Buff and got red offspring, then I would guess the diluter is recessive.
I have no idea what they are supposed to have, and I don't even know if you have Ig or something undiscovered. I am simply assuming it's recessive because of how it's actingSo, I have Ig, instead of Di? Aren't Orps supposed to be Di?
The Mystery Boy appears Buff though. He's the only one in the batch.I have no idea what they are supposed to have, and I don't even know if you have Ig or something undiscovered. I am simply assuming it's recessive because of how it's acting
Champagne/Blonde is another Diluter gene, but also seems dominant, & not recessive though. It also changes Red to Buff. That would depend on whether the diluter gene is dominant or recessive. The kippenjungle genetic calculator shows that "Dilute" is dominant and "Ig" (Inhibitor of Gold) is recessive, and either one can dilute red to buff. I have no idea which one your Buff Orpington might have.
If the diluter gene is recessive, then Buffy could be red if she got one copy of the not-diluter from Dino. Does Dino have red? Or a color that would hide whether he's got red vs. buff?
By “red” do you mean mahogany or just the base gold color?Champagne/Blonde is another Diluter gene, but also seems dominant, & not recessive though. It also changes Red to Buff.
Mahogany.By “red” do you mean mahogany or just the base gold color?
