Don't confuse you not understanding genetics enough to comprehend what I stated as me not saying it clearly.
When I talk genetics it state things pretty clearly and in simple enough terms that almost anyone can follow what is being said.
I wasn't and still am not confused about what I posted or the incorrect stuff you're posting.
Please, just follow along rather then try to correct every little thing you see me post? It's like you're obsessed with trying to correct every little detail. Reminds me of my father who's a perfectionist.
This ain't your thread you can just control, because something doesn't sound right to you.
I get confused easily sometimes, especially when people word their posts wrong.

Explain the white amongst gold, then? It's not just going to appear without silver being present.

Believe me I don't correct every little thing. I let most things slide but when you post something so far off as you have been then I correct you.
What I'm obsessed with is the genetics and I hate to think of you having them so wrong and so sure you don't that others may come here and get incorrect info from you which is going to be no help to them and in fact be a hindrance to their learning.
It has nothing to do with something not sounding right but everything to do with what you're saying not at all being right.
Study more with an open mind to learning and post correct information and there wouldn't be an issue.
If someone was posting incorrect info wouldn't you want to know and get the right info?
Like I already said what I posted wasn't worded wrong. It should of been very clear to anyone with minimal understanding of chicken genetics.

I do not know the genetics of that chick or its parents to give you an answer at this point.
It could be for a few reasons I suspect but I know it absolutely is not because it is a gold based chick that carries silver.
Silver and gold doesn't work that way.
Silver is dominate to gold. If it had both genes it would appear as a silver not a gold.
Go do some research on sex linked silver/gold and you will see for yourself that what I'm saying is true. It may also explain to you how the genes are passed on and how it is impossible for a male to pass on both gold and silver to one offspring.

If you're obsessed with genetics, go bug someone else, please?
Not trying to be mean, or anything. It just gets annoying seeing you trying to correct me all the time. I want to see what other people's thoughts are.
You've been on my tail for a whole year now, which seems quite obsessive, really.

The chick has the same parents as my project cockerel. The mix used is Buff Orpington/Barred Rock X Buff Orpington/Australorp.
