When and how can I sex my pekin/cochins?

Hi everyone. I'm new to this but I've discovered it's quite addictive!!! I've just had my first hatch, unfortunately only one hatched of 6. So we purchased another pekin / cochin chick from a local breeder to keep each other company. At the moment they are 5 and 8 days old. When would I be able to sex them ? And how would I do it?

You have to wait until they are 5-8 weeks. The roosters will get bigger pink combs by than. Some signs to watch for until that age is roosters often feather out slower, and they can still be mostly naked with just wing feathers while the pullets are mostly feathered.

Cockerels may also have a slightly more aggressive attitude than a pullet.
