First layer today!

The wait is finally over! Amelia my Brown leghorn finally laid an egg at 28w old! This is my first flock so she just gave me my first ever fresh egg. I'm still in shock. Literally the day I gave up on them ever laying an egg I got one. Only 9 more to go!

Egg on the left is store bought. Amelias is on the right. Tiny and perfect in every way.

nice egg congratulations it looks like a RIR egg

still no egg from my french black copper maran but she has grown a lot !!!!!
now she has really big red wattles and she keeps cackling ...
but my rooster is not crowing he started to make weird sounds about a week ago but stopped after a couple of days anyone knows why ??
he is almost 7 months

My RIR just began to lay this week at age 24 weeks. She has laid one egg each day for four days and I tell everyone they are my Christmas eggs!
