When do Buff Orpingtons start laying?

We only have one BO, Duckie. She started laying at about 23 weeks and is a super reliable layer plus she's our spokeschicken. She's the one we use to introduce to chicken fraidycats.

My Buff Orpingtons are 26 weeks old today still aren't laying this forum makes me so glad I am not the only one! 27.5 weeks and not laying? Wow, I have 13 I am so excited, we even put fake eggs out so they will lay in their area. Now I am simply awaiting the eggs laying!

We have 6 Buff Orpingtons and at 18 weeks we came home to two eggs. We then got 1 egg a day for the next week or so and finally today at 21 weeks we got our first "3-egg day". I know not all 6 are laying, but they all look so much alike I can't tell which ones aren't yet.

I have 24 Buff Orpington's and 2 of them laid their first egg at 19 weeks. One of them continues to lay on a daily basis and the other hasn't laid an egg since she laid the first one a week ago. Probably about 30% of the girls are starting to squat so I'm expecting them to start laying any day now.

I have 32 buff orps that I got April 4th from McMurry and some of them started laying at 19 weeks. I am now getting about ten eggs a day and they were 21 weeks old on Monday. Some of them seemed to mature a little faster than others, getting combs and waddles sooner that others.

Buffs only

I got 3 @ 19wks and no eggs. I knew full well that they would be around 22/26 wks before getting eggs. But one looks like she might be getting ready, her comb and wattles are bigger than the other 2 and is red,not bright red,red none the less. The other 2 are still pinkish. Still waiting for the Cinnamon Queens to get going, keep telling them that they are sex-links and egg laying from them is early and often. Dont think they are listening.

Well I guess my thought process has gone to H-E-double hockey sticks. I was at a friends helping get set up for his annual pig roast and get a text pic from my daughter. One of my Buffs decided that yesterday was the day and gave us a small to medium egg. I knew she was close due to the color of her comb, but I guess I didnt know how close. If I were a betting man I would have thought the CQs would have laid first. Oh well I will take it.

27 weeks, no eggs yet... Just added a light to go on with a timer in the morning so they are getting at least 14 hrs of sun.
