Rooster grow spurs gradually during their first year. You don't even notice them until about 6 or 8 months of age. After the first year they grow quicker and at 3 years they are huge! The first photo is Fowler at 6 months old. You can see his little nubs coming out. The second is Harvey with his big, big spurs at 3 years old.
