When do Wyandottes generally start laying?

Did yours ever lay? Mine is 23 going on 24 weeks as well and still no egg. Her comb is bright red and her vent is not quite as puckered, but I'm beginning to wonder if something isn't wrong with her? How long before I start worrying?
Nope. Mine still has a dark grey comb and hardly any wattles. She is as big as the others, but no comb/wattle.

And NO EGGS! :barnie:barnie:barnie

Hello All,
I have chicks born in October last year that have still not payed an egg!! They would be 7 months old. Wyandotte Silver Laced Bantam.

It’s Winter here, so shorter days, but weather is still mild (15 degrees Celsius).

Thoughts??? My husband is asking if they are weird non egg laying chicks.

Layed an egg! Not payed

Wyandottes are pretty good layers but don't mature much earlier than most other breeds. You should expect them to lay anywhere from 18 to 22 weeks.

Welcome to BYC. I am glad you came in with this question because I too have a young pullet and was wondering the same thing because I have never had a Wyandotte before. My silver girl will is about 18 weeks now and her comb is getting quite red now. It should be soon.

I have 2 silver laced wyandottes, that I got late spring of 2010. I purchased them from a private breeder, and hoped they would be laying by mid October, but they were 30 weeks old before they started laying. They may have been late due to the slowing of daylight hours, but they are excellent layers, and very nice hens.
