When do Wyandottes generally start laying?

My girls are 26 weeks and still no eggs.. With less hours of daylight now does that mean I will have to wait until spring? Just seems crazy.

I'm hearing Wyandottes are pretty reliable winter layers. Let's all hope!

Waiting on the first egg is always torture! It will come though. Just imagine, some people wait for 40+ weeks!

Every time I think I'm nearing a record for a Wyandotte pullet not laying somebody bursts my bubble.

We got our first egg today and we just passed the 29 week mark!!!

Got my first egg from one of my blue wyandottes 2 days ago and another today she's just past the 21 week mark, looks like my black will start laying any day now to.

My girl was 33 weeks when she started laying. I am sorry that you are still waiting. It will happen. They lay a pretty light brown almost pinkish egg. I have a golden cuckoo marans hen and her egg is light brown and there is a definite difference. Daylight hours are shorter too now.

I'll pray to the Chicken Gods that she starts soon.
