When the men put their foot down...

Hmmm....3 inside dogs, 6 inside cats, 5 birds (cockatiels & parakeets), a chinchilla, a turkey, a pheasant, 40-50 chickens and 50+ chicks and DH hasn't put his foot down yet. Theres been ferrets, bunnies, fish, hamsters, guinea pigs and other dogs/cats...so we are actually low on the pet level at the moment lol.

Hubby will try and say no to another bunny, guinea pig, etc. But if I really wanted it and added a please...he would give in or he wouldn't say anything if I just brought one home. He is even in charge of cleaning the cats litter boxes. I really lucked out, he's an animal lover.

I think the only thing he would honestly ask me not to get is another big dog or any bigger barnyard animals, like a horse. Mostly due to money and space. Which I totally agree with, so he has no argument from me there.

You are so young, and so CUTE. I just kidding- that sounds good, but doesn't work at my house!

Well, I may be naive, but I'm certainly not young--I'm 40. Yea, maybe the making decisions together part is not always realistic.

My wife has given me everything I have ever wanted. So if she wants a goat, a pig, a corvette, how could I ever say no?

I know when I reach my limit without my hubby having to say anything at all.

I never ask for anything, but I never go overboard and get in too deep either.

This is what we do at out home all the time, My DH is great about letting me have animals but I know his limits so I try and respect them we have 10 chickens right now and I suggested that I wanted 2 frizzles just because they are so cute, he is thinking about it but thinks having 12 chickens would be a good number to have and we have the space for them so that's no a problem, I am not taking in any more cats or dogs we have 6 dogs, a beagle mix, a chihuahua mix 2 pure bread chihuahuas and one winnie dog mix, plus we have 6 cats, 2 ferrets and a very spoiled rat and 10 chickens I think right now that is more then enough one of our cats is getting old and will be put to sleep soon

If I want something really bad my DH will try and get it if we can because I support his hobby and the chickens are now my new hobby so he helps build what they need and I think in the spring I will get my frizzles, we have always made decisions together so it does work the kids hate it can't play us against each other because we talk about everything, sorry for the long post.

We were doomed from the start. When we moved in, the previous owner said "Don't ever get peacocks. We had them and they kept flying over the fence and eating the lettuce in the fields. The farmers were not happy with us."

I keep thinking "But OURS won't do that!"
