...you are right about us being so far removed from our food...I find it really sad...out of sight out of mind also means that people don't care how the food is treated or handled before it becomes food....I worked at a local zoo a while back as an educator (I have tons of animal experience in all kinds of capacities), and we had the prize winning steer from the stock show staying with us for a while...he was white.
