When to switch to grower feed?

I've been meaning to do this for awhile so I went to the garden shed and took a picture of the back of the bag. I hope it is readable.

@DuckyDonna
Will I have to get something that is 20% protein to switch to first? Is it ok to switch from 26% directly to 18%? I was thinking of switching them to the 18% around 3-4 weeks when they’re slightly bigger. I don’t know if the drop in protein level is too much.

Honestly I don't really know but I wouldn't think so. I think you mentioned that they had trouble eating it because the pellets were too big for them.

Is there no crumble available where you are?

So according to the Dumor info from the bag they stay on 20% until 10 weeks then go to 15% until they are 18 weeks.

Then it's on to layer food for the girls or stick with the grower finisher if you've just got drakes. I have both so I do 50/50 grower finisher/layer pellets. I think Miss Lydia does that too but with a different brand of food. I hope this has helped. It's mother's day and I guess lots of people are doing other things today.

Just thought of something else, if you're worried about the sudden switch in protein and you've got some of the 26% left mix it in with the 20% until you've used it up. I can't see how that would hurt. Hopefully someone else will chime in here soon. I see Miss Lydia is here so that's good!

I'm new to ducks but the feed suggested to me at the supply store is RanchPro gamebird starter-grower. It's protein content says 28% and the tag says ducks can use it as a complete ration until 14 weeks. It is a 40lb bag and the guy at the store said since we got 4 ducks just use it till it was gone and then switch to the regular gamebird ration. Thoughts?

that sounds like the same percentage that @albinosilver was using in Canada so it would probably be ok to follow that.

That’s pretty high in protein. Do what you think? I know what works for my Birds
