Welcome! Out of 5 roosters that I have only one was consistently crowing for a good long while the others didn't start crowing till they were almost 3-4 months old! Now holy cow they all go at it at once!!

Play some rooster sound and voila! You will hear his crow in next hour

Welcome! I don't have any black Australorps now, but yours looks just like the pullets I used to have.

I'm sure yours will grow out to be just as handsome. I'm amazed at 25 weeks not a peep. If and when he crows, please post here. I'd love to know when.

I woke up this morning to hear my 10 week old BCM attempting to crow. I went outside to make sure it was him. All of my older kids are girls, but his hatch mate is also a cockerel.

I told everyone I'd let them know the results. The larger one is a boy. Just started crowing and compared to a Silkie crow, it is a very deep crow. LOL
Would everyone agree Australorp? He's quite large, especially compared to the pullet.

Check the bottoms of his feet. If they are pink, he is an Australorp. If they are yellow, he is a Jersey Giant.
