When will my new full grown duck lay eggs?

No I don't think she is stressed at all, she seems extremely happy in her new home :) the guy I got her from had no water for them to swim in not even a kiddie pool, no coop, it was just a big fenced in area with a piece of plywood ontop of one end and she was the only girl housed with 5 drakes!!!!!! Here she has a big pond to swim and explore in, and 3 other female ducks that are around 3 months old and they all get along great! It's a big happy family and they have a coop open all day that they can go in, but she chooses to spen all her time in the water. When she first saw the water it was an amazing sight how happy she was.. You could tell she never had swimming water before.. Nothin bugs her no dog or anything... I'm just waiting on that egg still.. I checked the bottom of the pond and don't see anything.. Question, what do you guys do with your duck eggs? Do you eat them? I've never had a duck egg before, I heard they don't taste very good

Has she started laying this year? Just give her time. It really can take a few weeks and even longer if she hadn't startes laying this year yet. I'm glad she has a nice home with you. I love my cayuga as well and she came to me when she was a year old. With all that white I wonder if she is a mix. Very pretty though! I eat mine scrambled and cook with them. Last night we had fried duck eggs for our veg bibimbap. My kids like them over easy but I'm not a huge fan.

Glad to hear she's not stressed! Sounds like she's in a much better home now. I'd say it's just wait and see. She may not have started laying yet, you said the guy didn't know for sure if she was laying.

Duck eggs? I eat them. They're delicious. They taste a lot like chicken eggs, just thicker and richer. They make fantastic omelettes, and they're wonderful for baking. They need to be cooked at a lower temperature and care needs to be taken not to overcook them or the get kind of rubbery.

I had two ducks, and we started getting eggs, and we liked them so much we bought four more ducks so we'd have enough eggs!

They're slacking, though, and haven't started laying yet.

Awe your ducks are precious! I had a few Indian runners but for some crazy reason they died one after the next. I had 3, I think my mistake was that I left food over night in the coop with no water, I don't put water in the coop over night because they would turn the coop into a swimming pool... So they now get food and water outside the coop, since I stopped giving them food in the coop I have not had any more problems

If they have food they HAVE to have water. More than likely they did choke to death. I don't have any food or water in the coop and they don't get anything at night. Glad you got it all figured out.

Yeah it was very tragic and I was and still am heart broken! But I'm thankful that my girls are all doing well and I figured out my mistake before I had any more casualties

Okay, so she still has not laid a single egg and I have now had her for 7 weeks!!!!! Does anyone have any idea why she is not laying? Is it because non of my other ducks are laying yet because my other ducks are only 13 weeks old.. I'm so confused!

The guy I got her from claimed she's a year old and Cayuga mixed with a white duck, and that's supposedly why she has the white fathers mixed in... But from what people have been telling me, she could be a pure Cayuga that has some age on her and that's why she has the white feathers

I remember now. I am wondering if she is in fact older since you aren't getting eggs. Hmmm... I hope that she is just taking her sweet time.
