She looks to be a larger dog breed, so can have 4-10 puppies, though the number can be higher or lower.

Willa, our great Pyrenees, had 11 and 9, and was born from a litter of 13. So be prepared. Start reading everything you can get your hands on OP.

It may happen in the middle of the night. I would watch her very closely during the day so you know exactly when the puppies may come

If you can convince the owners to let her raise the puppies with you I would try and do that. And if I were you I would try and get her spayed (after the puppies are bornwhen she can safely be spayed) but I understand that probably isn’t an option. Honestly I feel like your parents should care more about this situation, if the dogs are scared of their owners, and are being allowed to inbreed, and breed at all, something isn’t right. If these people can’t afford to spay and neuter their dogs, then they can’t afford to take care of them properly.

I agree, but I worry they won't take good care of them. I've never had a dog 7nder 8 weeks but man, puppies are so so much work and they're are so many ways to mess things up.

You'll probably want to stay with her while shes giving birth if you can. Make sure they're all healthy and stay warm. Of course being inbred its likely they'll have issues.

Oh I would never even let the original owners touch the puppies. I would raise them and find them homes.
