When will she(s) go broody?

One of mine went broody AFTER I hatched out all the eggs I wanted for this year and have weaned all the chicks off the lamp. I think a second one is starting. :he Lol. I did end up getting some Jersey Giant hatching eggs from a lady with really nice show stock. I tried for a couple of weeks to break her broodiness and it just wasn’t happening. So I got the hubbys approval. :love

I know this is all anecdotal but I had two BOs years ago. One went broody often and raised several batches of chicks. The other never went broody.
As for leghorns (which aren't supposed to be prone to set), I had a black leghorn that raised several clutches for me. We used to have a flock of 100 white leghorns and there were always 2 or 3 in broody jail in our hanging cages.

I have had Orpington's in the past and they were more broody than other breeds.
