So...on Thursday I send my Mother a pic of Momma Mocha with a baby under her. Baby is poking through Momma's feathers. I write "2 headed chicken" as a little humor....

cute overload have take photo's I took 4 birds to auction make room for
marans got to the auction they where running late ended up buying two EE fully bearded
both pullets maybe 8 month one layed nice egg at the auction other last night went to check on them nice light green on the floor in a cockerel coop can only hold max 3 but no cockerel in in it just now

I shouldn't tell you this.... but the majority of mine that jump on momma's back turn out to be roosters.

Agree a week or so is fine, but any time you go out for your coop visit, you could let her try. Some chicks are naturals, some are.... well.... not so smart.
But when you have time to supervise, give it a try! I actually find the sooner the better, so she has the chance to show the others, and also warn them of the dangers of tangling with her if they mess with a chick. As long as the chicks can move around well on their own, they stick close by momma early on. Later once they have tested the boundaries of how far they can get away from her, it slightly increases the danger for introductions.
