Where the magic happens

I'll show you a picture of my house, but NOT my messy basement which is where my incubators are.

This is my husbands homeplace and our kids were the 5th generation to grow up here. He's basically lived here his whole life except for being gone to college. They tore the old house down and built this one in 1947. I like my house, but I wish the old one was still here.

I want your old bed frame! I have one that my middle dd has in her room that is from my stepdads grandparents. I slept on it as a kid. Love it!

I drug that one out of the junk pile 30+ years ago. It's corroded through on the bottom of the legs. I used to ask my hubby to try and fix it, but finally gave up. I do have an even neater one that is in one of the bedrooms upstairs. I loved my late MIL dearly, but she just thought the old stuff was junk...she's probably the one who threw it in the iron pile to begin with!!....and just couldn't understand why I wanted that old junk in my flower bed!!

Oh Katy...I loved my MIL dearly, but she was always throwing out something I wanted to use in my home!...lol....I have a poster bedroom suite that was hers that came from Sears Roebuck she was going to pitch!!...I re-did the whole thing and use it it in one of my b-rooms...must be 70 years old or more...

There isn't much to see honestly-just a LG on the kitchen counter. Just imagine an LG on a tan counter with an unfinished cabinet avove it.

I'm waiting on my hova genesis, and I may set up a little bator corner in our spare room. I'll dig up this thread a post a pic if I do.

Oh Katy, I love the older stuff also. The house we're in was built in '48 and was a thriving farm back in the day from what I've been told. (I'm trying my darndest to get it back that way but DH is being a brick wall on this

) You don't happen to have a pic of the original house. I would love to see it.

I'm currently letting everyone else enjoy the "batoring" or I would show pics also.

I wish we had a picture of the original house....all we've ever been able to find are pictures of bits and pieces of it...like a porch, or somebody standing alongside of it. We do have a painting of it that a cousin did back in 1937. I guess I could take a picture of the painting and try and post it. It was a neat house.
