Where to order chicks?: Hoover Hatchery Vs. Ideal Poultry?

Any experiences with these hatcheries?
Which hatchery has healthy chicks that will survive and thrive after the shipment to Arizona?
I'm planning on ordering 6 chicks in the near future to add to my "flock" of two older chicks.

Hi there,
I ordered twice from Ideal and had great experiences. Overnight delivery. But I am close by in Texas. They will reimburse you for any lost chick on way.
I have not tried the other one so cannot say...

Maybe try hatching your own flock. It is such a beautiful thing to watch your own eggs hatching before your eyes. And for you to be the first sight the chicks see, make it even more of a blessing.

I haven't had chicks shipped but the farm store I purchase chicks from receive their chicks from Hoover Hatchery. I have been pleased with each batch of chicks I get, they are all healthy.

That is so true. So rewarding to have your own little ones out of the eggs.

I have two 4 week old pullets currently and just want 6 more pullets.

Yes, but you want them as chicks. And the fact that you only want 6 makes it even easier to use and incubator

I used the cheapest incubator. I only wanted 2 chicks since I don't have a yard.

I’m in MS and my chicks arrived from Ideal on the 2nd day of shipping. All 8 chicks were happy and healthy.

Now that my chicken coop is 17 strong I have been toying with the idea of using an incubator next spring.
