Where to put my brooder?

Why not in one of the bedroom closets? You can keep the closet door open, and they would be safe.

Under the circumstances, you might want to cancel your order, until you are set up to handle the needs of the chicks.

@Chickenlover2017 @getaclue I think I will clean out one of the closets in the basement and keep them in their for at least a couple of days. My cat will just have to be satisfied with ruling the other 95% of the house  My new worry though is that the will eventually grow too big for the closet, but I will work on safety proofing the chicken coop so when they are bigger they can move in. I would not want to risk the health of my chicks, and I have someone willing to keep them temporarily if I am too unprepared. How much space do you think they will need? The closet will surely be big enough for a while.

Mine are in a basement laundry room that has a door actually 2 one goes up to the garage. I also have a metal grate on top just in case my cat sneaks in. I can open the door up to the garage when doing laundry as I can block the dogs from going down the stairs with some scrap wood. Hope you can find a safe space for them.
