Which breed that you don't have do you wish you did and why?

A flock of Wheaten Marans. Saw one a couple weeks back and can't stop thinking about them. LOVE LOVE LOVE the Orps but I think their solid colors are what has me enamored with the multi-colored Marans.

I love my LFs since they are so sweet but I would love some blue laced Wyandottes because I think they are gorgeous and are supposed to be friendly birds. If I had the facilities for them I would also add black laced Seabrightsjust to look at!

Of course I wouldnt mind some aura Ana for the beautiful eggs, or a few Brahma for the beautiful feathers... Darn chicken math!

I would love some dutch bantams, I think they are absolutely adorable. I'd also like a turken, just one, just because they are weird looking. Can't have them now, I am over the limit, but the next chickens I buy will be one of the above.

Cochins of any color because they're soo cute and friendly and splash silkies cuz they're beautiful... I think I might actually get my wish chickens soon enough since I think there's room for maybe 8 more bantams in the coop

ooh and for standards I would love a silver laced Wyandotte and a jersey giant

Really, really want list:

Columbian Rocks: Breeder variety, because they are big and I like big chickens. See Plymioouth Rock thread and look at Yardfullorocks Columbians.


Black Breasted Red Araucana: I like blue and green eggs and I really love the BBR coloring.


There are more but I'd really would like these two the best.

Weirdly enough, what I long for, off and on, is a yard full of baryard mixes that set their own nests and pop off startling new looks every once in a while: the chicken equivalent of my columbines and hardy geraniums, in other words.

I admire my BLRWs and am deeply, passionately in love with my LF Silver Spangled Hamburgs, but a little randomness and surprise would be grand.

every bird ive liked ive bought eggs off ebay and hatched them there are some chickens that i truly dont like like turkens and thai breeds the ones that dont look like they filled out right or grew feathers in the right spot.........i think its cruel how people breed chickens to look at distorted and yuck

Hi! That's such a good question!
I think silver spangled is the most glorious pattern. I had a pair of spangled Hamburgs once.
I'd love to have more spangled birds here.
