I am increasing my flock size by about 20 later this year or early next and after reading all these posts it makes me think I need to build a coop to hold just a few more. I really like those buff laced brahamas they are awesome. Also welsummer sounds great, I didn't know they laid speckled eggs. I am still new to breeds, just so many combinations out there. I also want to get a big pretty rooster, one that's really flashy.
I would love to get some chocolate orphs, but i will never get any. They are absolutely breathtaking i think. I would also love to get more EE silkies. I had one up until a few months ago when a dog got her, she had the silkie feathering and the 5 toes and black skin and everything but she had the EE pattern and green eggs.
Oh man those are some pretty neat looking roosters. I think my favorite is Geoffry. Ever make some mutts out of him with other breed hens? I imagine you could make some pretty interesting colored birds/eggs.
Kraienkoppes. Broody, wonderful mamas, will help each other mother, very tame and gentle, body type of a Leghorn so don't eat huge amounts, excellent foragers.
Give you a nice medium to large light brown egg between rounds of broodiness. Warning: you're not likely to break their broodiness.
