Frog twitched his tail sharply. "I think we might find something, we've never been here before." Spanish moss dripped from the trees like party decorations abandoned. But the ground, though soft, wasn't muddy like the area below it. A soft, fishy smell and an odd stink filled his nose.
A wild cat raced past, scared out of hiding.
Frosty nodded sagely. "Yeah, because... it's dry!" He piped up, looking to Frog to see if he was impressed. Then the unknown cat raced past, and the fur along his back stood up. "What was that?"

The cat kept on running, his territory now had strange cats and he was not a risk taker.

"I don't know. I think he's scared of us though. I don't want think he'll bother us. He's probably just passing through." But Frog couldn't hide the fact that his hackles, though damp and spiky, were raised as unfamiliar scents filled his mouth. They were on the south side of the territory.

The odd cat just ran and ran. An old twolegplace offered him shelter and he stayed there. The strange cats were legends, he was seeing things. Though, maybe Lone had been right.....

"Should we.. uh... chase him?" Frosty wondered out loud, remembering the times he'd heard the fighters talking about wanderers being chased out of the tribes' territory.

Frog took a quick lick of his fur. "Nope, that's a job for the fighters, if they wish. We're hunters." He took idle steps southward, tasting more of the air. Strange cat scent, trees, water, magnolia, is that a southern breeze? Twoleg scent coming northward? Ah, I think I smell a bird, does Frosty have enough skill for that? Probably not. Mouse... Rats...
"This way," he said, flicking his long, silky blue tail southward, towards where he was certainly there was more undergrowth in the forest.

Petal watched Frog leave and sighed.

A small apprentice trotted past Frog with a mouse in his jaws. “Hi!” Mewed Patter.
