Temperature in Alaska is -7° with the humidity of 92%. Inside my greenhouse chicken coop is 1° with 89% humidity. Yes that is accurate – Alaska has a unique and extreme climate.

Went to check the hens today and noticed one of them has some white bumps on the front of her comb. Looks like frostbite near the back but the front looks different. Could it be a yeast infection? Any other suggestions?

I also noticed some feathers missing from her back. The skin underneath looks raw.

It's frost bite. The back feather loss appears to be either rooster mating damage or you have feather rakers. This is a little different than plucking feathers. Hens will rake their beaks over a hen lying down, often during dirt bathing, and the result is a woolly appearance of the feathers.

Thank you
